At present, most of the industrial applications in the magnesium industry are physical foaming. The so-called physical foaming is to make foam from the foaming agent aqueous solution through a foam generator, and then mix the foam with the magnesium slurry. The advantages of physical foaming are low cost, low amount of foaming agent (only 0.5-0.7kg per cubic meter), insensitivity to temperature, can be produced above 10 °C, easy to control the process, and small production difficulty, suitable for in various processes.

Foamed Magnesium

1. Foamed magnesium, also known as foamed magnesium cement, is a new technology of magnesium application.

2. Foamed magnesium is a foamed cementitious material with a large number of small, closed and uniform pores inside.

3. There is a large amount of air in the pores of the material. Compared with other materials, the air has the best thermal inertia, which greatly reduces the thermal conductivity of the foamed magnesite material.

4. The porous structure greatly reduces the weight of the material, reduces the occurrence of anti-halogen deformation, and reduces the production cost; it increases the thermal insulation, sound insulation, shock absorption and water resistance of the product.

5. The application of foamed magnesite technology expands the application field of magnesite products and improves the added value of magnesite products.

2. Product performance of foamed magnesium;

1. Lightweight and high strength

The density of commonly used foamed magnesium is 300-800 kg/m3, and the compressive strength is greater than 0.5Mpa. The use of this material in the internal and external wall structures of buildings can significantly reduce the self-weight of buildings and improve the bearing capacity of components.

2. Thermal insulation

Because the foamed magnesium contains a large number of closed 0.5-1mm pores, the thermal performance is good. Foamed magnesium with a density grade of 300-800 kg/m3 has a thermal conductivity of 0.08-0.18w/(m K).

3. Good sound insulation

Foamed magnesium is a porous material with an attraction capacity of 0.09-0.19% and good sound insulation performance. This material can be used as a sound insulation layer in the fields of building floors, highway sound insulation boards, and concert halls.

4. Low elasticity and shock resistance

Foamed magnesium has a low modulus of elasticity, which enables it to absorb and disperse shock loads well. At the same time, the lightweight and high-strength characteristics of foamed magnesium can effectively reduce the load of the building by 20% to 40% and improve the earthquake resistance of the building.

5. Fire safety

Foamed magnesium is an inorganic non-combustible material, no matter it is used for the internal and external materials of the building, there is no need to worry about fire protection; at the same time, it is a cement product, and its life is the same as that of the main body of the building.

6. Energy saving and environmental protection

A large amount of industrial wastes such as fly ash, slag, and stone powder can be added to the raw materials for the production of foamed magnesite. It does not contain any toxic substances and has no environmental pollution.

7. Strong water resistance

A large number of relatively independent closed cells and good overall performance in the foamed magnesium make it have strong water resistance, and the water absorption rate is 1/2 of that of steam-cured air-entrained concrete.

8. Easy to produce

Using this material to make lightweight blocks, plates and other products does not require autoclave and high temperature maintenance, with low investment cost and high production efficiency.
